Dear Parents,

Welcome to fall! It's hard to believe the new school year has started already, and I am back with your children again!

We are busy learning about our local government in social studies and exploring trees in science. We have begun our new math supplement program called Simple Solutions. In this program, new skills are introduced each Monday and reinforced throughout the entire week. The goal is to have the children advanced in their math skills by the end of the year. We are also working in our regular 3rd grade math books to keep in line with the NY State curriculum.

On October 1st, we will be joining grades 4 and 5 for a field trip to the Hudson River Museum. Make sure to ask your children what they learned in the planetarium and on the tour! In addition, on October 22nd, we will accompany grades K-2 on a pumpkin picking trip. More information will follow!

ITBS tests are early this year. Children will be taking the test the week of October 13th. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and is on time for school.

October 8th is School Picture Day. Please make sure your child dresses in his/her COMPLETE UNIFORM!

Please check your child's agenda nightly to ensure that all assignments are being completed.

Our first bake sale is October 1st. Please send in something to sell. Please be reminded no peanuts or peanut oils may be in the items.

Our class parent is Robyn Wise. She will be contacting you about the bake sale and the Halloween party.

Please come and support the Spaghetti dinner on October 16th.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Moore
